I am a science nerd with a crush on hope and beauty. I started my journey in healthcare with a physical therapy degree from Georgia State University. Physical therapy taught me so much about how the human body works, and how the patient and the provider work together to advance the patient’s wellbeing. But I ran into limits of healing with the mechanical model of physical therapy that I found frustrating. I suspected there was something else out there that could help the people whose problems had aspects beyond the purely physical realm.

Through a series of events, I ended up going to school at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offered many of the solutions I was seeking to be able to help more people. TCM provides a unified theory of the human being, encompassing body, mind, emotions, and the world around us. Applying this flexible philosophy in the treatment room allows for multiple options in treating disease and injury, and the potential to adapt treatment approaches to the unique needs of the individual.

In 2020, I decided to pursue a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was awarded the degree from Five Branches University in 2021. I am proud of my many years of study in this field, and the doctorate reflects that experience and training.

I love my work, and feel privileged to participate in the care of so many wonderful people. Come see me. Maybe I can help you, too.
